Hola, he encontrado esto en Codigo Geek:

PHP:

<ul>
      < ?php
 $rand_posts = get_posts('numberposts=5&orderby=rand');
 foreach( $rand_posts as $post ) :
 ?>
      <li><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>">
        < ?php the_title(); ?>
        </a></li>
      < ?php endforeach; ?>
    </ul>

Un saludo

para poner una imagen sería :

PHP:

<ul>
      < ?php
 $rand_posts = get_posts('numberposts=5&orderby=rand');
 foreach( $rand_posts as $post ) :
 ?>
      <li><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>">
        <imr src="URL DE TU IMAGEN" alt="" />
        </a></li>
      < ?php endforeach; ?>
    </ul>

Lo colocas donde quieras tener la iamgen esa de la que hablas. La quieres en el sidebar?

Si en el sidebar

Si ves mi barra lateral de mi web Descargas-NDS ya veras lo que me sale donde he puesto el codigo.

A ver, eso me pasa por no comprobar el código. Este es el que funciona:

Insertar CODE, HTML o PHP:

<ul>
      <?php
 $rand_posts = get_posts('numberposts=1&orderby=rand');
 foreach( $rand_posts as $post ) :
 ?>
      <li><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>">
        <img src="URL DE TU IMAGEN" alt="" />
        </a></li>
      <?php endforeach; ?>
    </ul>

Colocalo en tu sidebar.php remplazando URL DE TU IMAGEN por la dirección de la imagen que quieres poner.
