System files and files that the system cannot recognize will be labeled “Other”. Here are some of the things that could be included in 'Other' storage :
- macOS system and temporary files.
- PDF, .psd, .doc and other files.
- Cache files, such as user cache, browser cache, and system cache.
- Installation packages, such as .dmg and .pkg files.
- Browser plugins and application extensions.
- Any other content that doesn't fit into the main macOS categories.
